Chirstmas 2009

3 Months!

Yesterday miss Oakleigh turned 3 months old! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. That means I go back to work next week. I can't imagine not being with her all day, but you do what you have to do to live. I will miss her so much, but I am very lucky she will be with my mom. Oakleigh has become more vocal and is talking a lot more. Last night I was able to get her to start laughing, it was so cute. She smiles so much now, especially at her daddy. She makes our little family complete, I don't know what we did before her!

I did it...

I conquered my fears of coloring my moms hair!! I don't know why but I was so scared to ever color her hair, I was afraid she would hate it!! First of all I never thought she would ask since she has been going to the same girl for years! But yesterday I got a text asking want to color my hair? I was so scared the whole time! But now I know that I can do it!! It looked so good, and she loved it!! YAY!!! If anyone else needs their hair done let me know!! I love doing it!! Can't wait to get started back at school!

Sometimes....

and I mean sometimes, I miss being pregnant. I found this picture today, it was just a week before I had oakleigh. Man I was huge!!! I'm so lucky to have such a sweet little girl. I love you Oakleigh!!

My baby is sick...

My poor little girl is sick!! She has had a cough the last few days, but woke up screaming this morning. It was like a painful cry like she was hurting, it made Dan and I jump out of bed! She has been asleep since 12 last night and now it is 6:30 in the evening. She crys in her sleep and I have to just put a bottle in her mouth when its been four hours or else she wouldn't eat. She only opens her eyes for a few seconds before going back to sleep. I hate seeing her miserable!! Pretty sure she has a cold, which I hope will go away fast!! Lets just pray she gets better fast! I miss her smiles!!

Playin with cousin Cam!

I love that these two are just 6 weeks apart!

It's amazing how much she has changed in just 2 short months!!

2 Months Already!!!

Wow! Where has the time gone, Oakleigh is already 2 months old!! It feels like we were just bringing her home from the hospital. I was remembering how scared I was those first few nights with here home and how I really didn't sleep well. Fast forward a couple months and I think those fears are pretty much gone, but I do still go in and check on her a few times a night. What can I say I can be a little paranoid! Oakleigh has been doing really well at sleeping, a few weeks ago she started sleeping from about 11-5! It is amazing!! She is also starting to really interact with us and smiling and cooing. I took her to her 2 month check up and she weighs 9lbs and 14oz and 22 1/2 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for her head and 25 percent for her length. (I forgot to write down her weight!!) She did get 5 shots and a heal prick. It was so sad to see her cry so hard. But those shots are worth it! She does have thursh but is now on medicine and it is clearing up already! I am so grateful for this little angel to be in our lives. I don't know what we did without her!!

Bowling!!

Last night we went bowling with Chris and Olivia, it was our first time taking Oakleigh, it was so much fun!! I love bowling and forgot how much fun it was, I hadn't been since before I was pregnant. Thanks for going with us chris and liv! We had a blast!!

Oakleigh slept in her crib!!!

Last night I decided I would put Oakleigh in her crib for the first time, and she did so well!! I was so sad that she was no longer right next to me in the room, but I also knew I couldn't make it a habit anymore. She fell asleep at 12 and woke up at 5 to eat and then went back to sleep! She looked so comfy in her bed!! I can't believe she is already 2 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone, I don't know what I did before her!

Oakleigh Elaine Smith

Look who is finally here! I guess I should post this since Oakleigh is now a week old now! Oakleigh was born on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 8:03 AM. It was such an easy labor! I would rather do that than be pregnant! So here is the story: I started getting contractions Monday night around 8 and I thought it was just false labor, so I went and took a bath and drank lots of water around 10. At 10:30 I went to bed with a little bit of pain nothing too bad. And at 11:30 I woke up in pain!! I ran into the bathroom, went to the bathroom and when I stood up i felt like I was peeing my pants! Yes, my water had broke! I was so lucky to be in the bathroom when it broke! I called for Daniel and asked him to call Labor and Delivery but when we couldn't talk to anyone I just knew we had to get there fast. I hurried and packed the rest of my bag and we were out the door. It was the longest drive ever!! We finally got to the hospital at about 12:15 AM and they had me changed and put me on a gurney so they could check me. I was a 3 1/2 and as she was checking me the rest of my water broke! It was like a water balloon popped! I then got me IV, which hurt so bad!! My contractions were about 2 to 3 minutes apart and they asked if I wanted my epidural, heck yes I did! I had felt those contractions enough! At around 3 I was dilated to a 5 and stayed that way for about and hour so they decided to put me on pitocin, that didn't last long because it made Oakleigh's heartrate go down. At about5 I was a 7 and and 5:30 I was a 9. I was fully dilated by 6:30 and we just waited for Oakleigh to get further down the birth canal. I started doing practice pushes at about 7:30. At 7:45 we started the real pushes and by 8:03 my baby was born!! I am so glad labor was easy! I felt really lucky. Recovery has been pretty easy and it doesn't even feel like I had a baby. Daniel and I are so in love with her and are so happy she is apart of our family for eternity!!

Fun stuff for Oakleigh

So Daniel and I went and bought some fun stuff for Oakleigh this weekend. This little girl is spoiled! But we are too excited for her arrival so it was so much fun.

We got this cute carseat cover!

And we finally ordered her bedding!! You can't have a crib without it!!

And finally we bought her crib! We were going to wait until Christmas, but we ended up with enough gift cards that we just decided we might as well get it now. We did buy her more but that was a few of the big things we still needed. I can't believe she will be here any day now.
