Oakleigh also turns a month old tomorrow! Time has flown by. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and to be her parents. I love her more and more everyday. I don't know what I did before I was a mommy, it is the best thing in the world!! I have to thank Daniel for all of his help, he is the best Daddy and is always willing to help, even during the night feedings! He is the best!

I am so grateful that we can be together for eternity and that we have Oakleigh part of our family now. I feel so blessed. I will never forget our wedding day, it was one of the best days of my life. Thank you Daniel for being my husband and making life so much fun. I love you with all my heart.

Oakleigh Elaine Smith
Look who is finally here! I guess I should post this since Oakleigh is now a week old now! Oakleigh was born on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 8:03 AM. It was such an easy labor! I would rather do that than be pregnant! So here is the story: I started getting contractions Monday night around 8 and I thought it was just false labor, so I went and took a bath and drank lots of water around 10. At 10:30 I went to bed with a little bit of pain nothing too bad. And at 11:30 I woke up in pain!! I ran into the bathroom, went to the bathroom and when I stood up i felt like I was peeing my pants! Yes, my water had broke! I was so lucky to be in the bathroom when it broke! I called for Daniel and asked him to call Labor and Delivery but when we couldn't talk to anyone I just knew we had to get there fast. I hurried and packed the rest of my bag and we were out the door. It was the longest drive ever!! We finally got to the hospital at about 12:15 AM and they had me changed and put me on a gurney so they could check me. I was a 3 1/2 and as she was checking me the rest of my water broke! It was like a water balloon popped! I then got me IV, which hurt so bad!! My contractions were about 2 to 3 minutes apart and they asked if I wanted my epidural, heck yes I did! I had felt those contractions enough! At around 3 I was dilated to a 5 and stayed that way for about and hour so they decided to put me on pitocin, that didn't last long because it made Oakleigh's heartrate go down. At about5 I was a 7 and and 5:30 I was a 9. I was fully dilated by 6:30 and we just waited for Oakleigh to get further down the birth canal. I started doing practice pushes at about 7:30. At 7:45 we started the real pushes and by 8:03 my baby was born!! I am so glad labor was easy! I felt really lucky. Recovery has been pretty easy and it doesn't even feel like I had a baby. Daniel and I are so in love with her and are so happy she is apart of our family for eternity!!
